Packaging waste in the beauty industry
Each year, over 120 billion cosmetic packages are created yet only a small fraction of that gets recycled. In fact, most of that will end up in the landfill or our oceans. Because the beauty industry’s packaging is often too small, too flexible, or made of too many materials to be traditionally recycled, this industry has a serious waste problem.

Beauty With A Clean Conscience
Genuist Beauty is all about being genuine but how could we live up to our name and our ideals when the very industry we are in has such a waste issue with product packaging? Genuist Beauty’s mantra of “beauty with a clean conscience” felt impossible to attain until we partnered with the Pact Collective, a nonprofit that provides recycling solutions to beauty brands.
At Genuist Beauty, we’ve spent years creating beauty products that are effective, quick, and easy to apply, look gorgeous, and are made of clean ingredients in more sustainable packaging. We have also teamed up with packaging manufacturers to create sustainable packaging solutions that are either recyclable or reusable.
Genuist Beauty's Commitment to Recyclability and Reusability
That means all of Genuist Beauty's new products are recyclable and over half of our products can be reused to create a new life for new products. The glass tubes used with the Roller Brow derma roller, the Brow Primer, the Brow Renewal Mask and Brow Revival are all reusable. Ultimately, all of Genuist Beauty’s products can be recycled, reused, or repurposed thanks to our makeup recycling program so that our environmental burden can be minimized. Talk about beauty with a clean conscience.
Once you’ve finished using a Genuist Beauty product, clean out your product with warm water and soap as best as you can.
Read more about how to clean out your empties here. We’ve partnered with an incredible nonprofit, the Pact Collective, that has given us a makeup recycling bin. Then, all you have to do is drop off or send us back your empty Genuist Beauty products for proper recycling to 4674 Roswell Rd., Atlanta, GA, 30342.
